Tele-G

Last night our girl woke up at 2:30 with a temperature of 101F and vomited. It was the moment that I had been dreading since we first had Sophie, but we somehow muddled our way through it.
Sophie was boiling up, so after we took her temp we gave her tempra and phoned tele-health. I tell you, it felt very good to be able to call them at 3am and hear reassuring advice. Even if it's by the book, somewhat impersonal, it was nice to hear a nurse's voice.
Feeling her sweet head burning up against me was so heartbreaking. Poor bunny. I would have done anything to make it better. It's such a helpless feeling.
After we hung up with them we still felt uneasy, so we called our own tele-"G". She was way more loving than telehealth, and offered a more personal touch. Making us feel soo much better. It's funny how in the middle of the night everything feels scarier. Talking to a mom who has been through umpteen fevers is better than any telehealth advice.
Sophie spent the rest of the night between us in our bed, snuggled like a bug in a rug.
This morning Soph slept in until 10am and when she woke up her fever was gone. Our first fever is over, as quickly as it began.
