We had a great doctor's appointment yester afternoon. He listened to Soph's chest and said her breathing sounded great! It's not technically asthma if it only happens with a cold. He also said she's more likely to outgrow it if it only happens when she's sick. Yay and Yay. He suggested we keep her on her puffer till cold season is past, then try not using it anymore. It will be a bit of a fine balance trying to sort out when she needs it.
More good news!
-she's okay to be around pets
-we don't need to think about moving her room (which we were contemplating)
-he's not worried about her pip-sqeak weight ("She looks great to me!")
-we don't have to try and protect her from getting sick (any more than the next kid)
-she won't get sick more often than the average kid
I said that we have seen too much of him- he said "Yeah Sophie, people are starting to talk about us"
And his final piece of advice for Sophie was for her to cut back on the cigarettes.
As you can gather from our his witty reparte our doctor is quite the charmer. Sophie loves him. He is wonderful with her. When he listens to her chest he gets her giggling. And when he looks in her ear he lets her touch and examine the light first. So I don't even need to hold her while he takes a peek (at the brutal 'after hours clinic' near us she SCREAMED when the doctor listened and looked in her ears....because the doc was so rough). He never makes us feel rushed. He's fantastic. Brett teases me that I'm not allowed to go without him to the doctor's office. And we've noticed that quite a lot of the mommies are dressed up 'just a tad more than usual' in the waiting room. Let's face it, us mama's don't get out much!!

Sounds like a great doctor visit. Lots of good news for you guys! Also it's so nice to have a doctor with good bedside manner. When Lauren was a baby we had a doctor who was pretty cold and awful with kids. Lauren screamed even when she just saw him in the waiting room. Luckily we were able to switch to a nice doc. That's funny that all the Moms are dressed up to see him.
