Mini-Vacation!

We had a great mini-vacation this weekend. My orchestra was playing a concert away, so we took advantage and made it into a weekend get-away. Our friends Mel, Ben and Isabelle came from the States to meet us. We had adjoining rooms--how fun was that??!! It was so fun to see the babies together and interacting with one another. Belle had changed so much since our June visit. It was so nice to hear her laugh, watch her walking everywhere, and get a few hugs out of the deal. She's such a shining spirit.

All road trips need to start with lots of caffeine! Soph couldn't agree more.

Friday night we braved a 'dinner out' to Swiss Chalet. A quiet and leisurely dinner is definitely a thing of the past! We picked up blizzards and beer (yes, an odd combo) and came back to the hotel. We put the babies to sleep in one room so we could hang out in the other. Some good laughs were had!

The next morning we took the babes for a swim in the pool. It was chilly thus quite short lived. The dadas took the babies up for naps, while the mamas luxuriously drank Timmy Ho's in the hottub for an hour. Can you say "HIGHLIGHT?".
When the babes woke up we went for a visit to the mall. Soph had her first sushi experience. She seemed to like it! Belle loved her pizza too. We ended up at Chapters, at the Thomas the train table. Sophie was making the rounds, chatting, attempting to kiss and saying 'hi' repeatedly to each and every child at the table. It was pretty funny.

Saturday night was my concert, which went really well. Sophie came to the sound check, and at one point she was bopping away to the music on Brett's shoulders. It was pretty nice to see. We went back to the pub in the hotel afterwards, and it was fun to be 'out and about' like old times.

It was a great weeeknd, but always nice to come home. And when we got home we had another special visitor, a G arrived on our doorstep. The fun never stops!
