Harvest Fun Day

On Thanksgiving Weekend we decided to take a road trip to pick apples. After I took us on a wild goose chase looking for the apple orchard we used to pick from as a kid (which involved a ferry ride, a LONG drive down many country roads) we retraced our steps and found a decent looking place on the way back towards home. Not only did they have apples, but also pumpkins, AND pony rides!! This was a big day for Sophie going on her first pony ride. I wondered how Sophie would feel about the pony, but she didn't even hesitate for a second. She hopped right up and away she went! She looked so big on that horse being led around the field (with some daddy backup just in case).
Afterwards we went apple picked, which involved Clara desperately trying to reach apples from my back (she was in the backpack). Finally we gave in and she sucked an apple to her little heart's content. Sophie ran up and down the empty rows of trees (quite the opposite experience from our last year's Chudleigh's factory farm experience). It was a lovely day!!
