So far this season we have had some great fun---MK, Dan and Bodhi came to visit and helped us decorate (or undecorate depending on the family member......hint....my family consisted heavily on the undecorating). It was so nice to have them with us for that special occasion.
We have one visit with Santa---but not in the usual place---he had left the North Pole to visit an indoor playground we were visiting! What luck. I was shocked that Sophie hopped right up on his lap with no hesitation at all. I was pretty impressed. We'll see if Clara has the same reaction to a freaky dude in all red with a big furry face. Hmmmmm.

Another exciting milestone is that Clara is now pulling up on everything!! I tell you, she is a little monkey!! She is fast, and always seems to be heading for something 'interesting' (she has a total obsession with Sophie's potty, and let me tell you, there have been some CLOSE calls!). When we decorated the house Clara wasn't doing this, so we decorated accordingly. Well, now we have had to switch a few things around. In the above picture you can see her about to 'visit' our Christmas village. I like to call it "King Kong meets the Christmas village". We finally put up a baby gate by the kitchen because I literally couldn't do anything without having to scoop her up over and over. And the funniest part about that is that she KNOWS that she's being a monkey. She would crawl to the stairs while looking with a huge smile on her face the whole time! Sophie is loving the Nutcracker right now. She listens to it lots and lots, and does her ballet dancing. She absolutely loves to dance. That and swimming are definitely her favourite physical activities.
Tomorrow Brett's dad and his family are coming up for the day--assuming the 'snowmaggedon' is over!!! They are bringing us a puppet theatre they can't move with them to Bermuda. The girls will love that!
Then Sunday we're off to visit Brett's grandma and see some other friends for a couple of days.
Then the fun begins on the 23rd when we're IN OUR OWN HOUSE for our first Christmas!!!
PS---Mel--that's our family photo---and that's the BEST one!!

Happy New Year to you all! Mark and I both howled with laughter over the family photo - Brett is trying SO hard to keep it together but everyone else - ha ha ha ha
and the King King photo is wonderful - it has a real retro feel to it - it could be years and years old - beautiful!
AND Karen - we were talking about you. Have you seen MAMA MIA? Well, the girl in it TOTALLY reminds me of you when we were young (with darker hair of course) and silly -
LOVE YOU!
xoxo
