Day 11-13- Fish & Cottage Weekend

I decided I couldn't quite stomach another playground this morning, so we decided to go retail! My girlfriend suggested this cool aquarium store that has shark feeding and tons of fish, so we checked it out. We were a bit early so we had a McDonald's breakfast then some time reading books at Chapters. The kids loved the fish store--it was a big hit for them!

Naps, then headed back to the beach. We brought food for a picnic, Brett joined us for dinner but by that point the girlies were park overdone, so we basically packed up and took our sandy monsters home for beddie bye.

Friday morning I was heading up to a friend's cottage (who used to be a neighbour of ours) right outside Barrie. It was beautiful. It is on a HUGE private sand beach with sand as far as you can see.

Emily has two kids the exact same age. It was a lovely two days with lots of beach time for the girls, and at night some wonderful cheese trays and chats.

My girls are pretty toasted. I think it was one too many 'trips' and they kind of snapped. Sophie and Emily's oldest had many 'social challenges' that turned into constant escalating tears, yelling, swatting and huge tears. Sophie was done like dinner, and that didn't help anything. Clara I found just kind of picked up on the energy, so would often also be very loud just to join in the fun.

It makes it sound not so great, but there were also lots of really nice moments. It was really nice to get caught up and visit with Emily. She was very graceful about my kids behaviour and didn't seem too phased by it.

We came home this morning bright and early and have had a lazy morning with Brett (his day off YAHOO) in our 'like a....". When Clara wakes up we are going to head out for an adventure somewhere.
